I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but I'm hoping this will save someone in the near future from having the experience I did. I'd been to this salon before and had a good experience so came back to get a partial highlight. I thought it would range from $70-120, but apparently it's more. Tonya was my stylist, and boy either she was having a day or she's just tired of doing hair. She wasn't friendly at all and didn't ask me anything, really. When I showed her what I wanted, she basically said I'd have to get the entire full highlight ($250) to have my hair come out that color. I was confused, but she agreed to make it look more "platinum" and less brassy which is what I wanted. I didn't come out the color I wanted at all, and on top of that she said I needed to "up my game" because my hair was damaged. I thought maybe it was the lighting and when I got home but realized I'd paid $175 for a partial highlight that I didn't like at all. I tried calling and left a message with the salon and no one ever returned my call.
I am updating this review as I am blown away at the service I received after leaving this. I know it's not easy running a business, and I salute the owner Laura for fixing this issue. Kat completely gave my hair a makeover (complimentary) and I am more than ecstatic to say it turned out the way I wanted in the first place. It's stunning, and Kat took her time with me and my hair and she deserves serious compliments for being amazing! Thank you to the Bad Kittie Salon for reaching back out and proving you care about your clients. If you're a blonde, be sure to ask for Kat!
I've been to this salon maybe 3 or 4 times. Love the funky style, the prices are terrific, and I left feeling happy and cute.
But, the last time I went, a couple or three weeks ago, the only one available was someone I didn't know. I felt trusting and in safe hands.
I asked for highlights for summer and a slight trim. My hair is very short, fine, with a little wave, and thin it makes me sad, but that's all I got. It's not easy being an aging troll doll
The hairdresser said, "oh no, no, you don't need a trim you have no split ends". I was like, "OK".
The "highlights" made me blonde, no highlights, no depth. She put on a toner and a mask. Done deal.
And not knowing the final cost, I bought product too. after a major sales job, which I blame on myself.
I won't even mention the awful fly-away over grown cut I still had.
I called when I was home to see if there was a mistake. Nope, she's a "senior stylist". I've had my hair done all over the country. I've never been so ripped off. Now I need a great stylist. Any suggestions?
I went in for a consultation to get a body wave. The stylist was extremely helpful and honest about the condition of my hair. Although My hair was not quite ready for a perm, I left with recommendations on how to get it there and hope that I could get it there. The staff is friendly and the shop is very welcoming.
Tonya was absolutely amazing! I've always wanted someone to help me think about what shape my hair could take, and Tonya was perfect at listening to what I wanted and suggesting what she thought would be best for my hair type and face shape. This is the best haircut I've ever gotten and the salon itself is so cute and welcoming!
