“My super power is finding humor in every situation”
After 20 years, Lora is still passionate about hair and her clients. Originally from Florida, her mom was her inspiration for becoming a stylist. She’s been in Colorado since 1996 and trained at one of Denver’s premiere salons where she apprenticed under a Vidal Sassoon and Tony&Guy certified stylist. After establishing herself through Denver salons she opened the Bad Kittie in 2007. Lora loves being on Colfax and is a staple in the Bluebird district and her community. She loves to travel and has found inspiration all over the world. She’s a curly hair master, is highly trained in pin-up and vintage with a huge emphasis on continuing education.
Following in her grandmothers footsteps, Piper considers hair-styling to be a family tradition. “I grew up in my family’s beauty shop – there is just something special about pairing creativity with compassion.” She expresses that being able to work with her hands and create beauty gives her a drive to improve daily. Although she hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, she has had the opportunity to learn from renowned stylists across the United States. “I want to be educated on my craft as much as possible. It’s my job as a stylist to relay all important information to my client so they understand the process as well.” Although she’s only been in the business since 2015, she performs with experience like no other. Her passion is blonding- although she believes that every part of the service is vital to achieving the perfect final product. “I love the challenge of blondes – there are so many variants and sometimes the process is so meticulous! Blondes require such a high attention to detail so it pushes me to achieve perfection.” She has even created her own technique to combat the stresses of a full balayage service, cutting the time in the salon for her guests! The client is always her number one priority – the style must be functional, practical, and fit their lifestyle. “This is a service industry and i am here for YOU! Everyone deserves to love what’s on their head – so let’s make hair MAGIC!”
Balayage, fashion colors and bridal makeup are some of my specialties.
Hair and makeup have always been a passion of mine. Beauty is limitless and has so many options. I am naturally a brunette but a blonde at heart. I love learning new techniques and bettering myself as a stylist, so I am a firm believer of continuing education, especially in such a fast paced industry.
“Express yourself through your art, whether it’s your drawings in a sketchpad, tattoos on your skin, the shade of your lipstick, or the clothes that you wear.”
Originally from small town Tennessee I packed up my Great Dane and gaming pc a few years ago to live out my dream of doing vivid hair color in the city. I graduated from Paul Mitchell The School in 2013 and have enjoyed all aspects of the journey since then! Though, my heart is in fashion/transformative hair color, color theory, and furthering my education; I have always appreciated the artistic eye and creative nature of hairstyling and feel blessed to be able play such a role in my client’s lives. My favorite part of my job is helping make people feel like their best authentic-self, whatever that may look like!
When I’m not at the salon some of my interests are: pc gaming, watching anime with the doggo, doing DIY or art projects, spending too much time on Twitch and Reddit, baking or cooking yummy dishes/finding new restaurants, astrology, LARP, Cosplay, following the stock market, and honestly just about anything else that’s relatively nerdy.
